Who We Are

Our members include:

• Eritrean ministries and congregations within the LCMS and affiliate churches
  
• Eritrean LCMS or affiliate ordained clergy committed to our mission and confessional standards
  

EELMS is governed by:

• An Electoral Body (delegates from member congregations and the clergy committee, which is our highest authority)
  
• A Board of Directors who oversee the organization faithfully and with integrity

Our Mission Statement

The mission of the Eritrean Evangelical Lutheran Mission Society is to serve Eritrean Lutherans and other Christians by organizing conferences, producing media materials, and supporting local ministries to provide a bold, faithful, and Christ-centered witness.

 All activities of this organization must be directed toward achieving this mission.

About Us

The Eritrean Evangelical Lutheran Mission Society (EELMS) is a nonprofit organization working to unite and strengthen Christians through a shared mission in Christ.

We serve in fellowship with the Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod (LCMS) and other church bodies in full agreement with its teachings.

What We Do

• Organize conferences that equip and encourage believers
  
• Create high-quality media for teaching and outreach
  
• Support local ministries with resources and guidance
  

Our Annual Conference

Every summer, EELMS hosts an in-person conference designed to serve the whole family.

• Sessions are held in both English and Tigrinya.
  
• The conference builds a strong community environment, where participants grow together in God’s Word while also sharing in laughter, food, fellowship, and joy.
  

Year-Round Gatherings

In addition to the annual conference, we host several virtual gatherings throughout the year to encourage and empower the saints.

We also provide virtual Confirmation classes in Tigrinya for those who may not otherwise have access to language-specific confirmation instruction.
